Inspection

1.
The daytime running unit (A) is integrated in the BCM.

2.
Check that the light operate according to the following timing chart.

A.
DRL ON
-
ALT L signal and IGN2 signal input
B.
DRL operation
-
Lighting the head lamp high beam and tail SW OFF.
C.
DRL OFF
-
Brake SW ON.
-
Head lamp SW ON or Head lamp high beam SW(or passing SW) ON.
-
Until vehicle is not moving after ALT'L signal ON.

If the daytime running light is not operated well, Inspect the connector and terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
If the terminals look OK, go to step 4.
4.
Make these input tests at the connector by using ETM.
If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
If all the input tests prove OK, the BCM (Body control module) must be faulty; replace it.

Inspection

1.
Check for continuity and measure the resistance between No.1 and No.3 terminals.

Standard value : 2.0Ω ± 5%

2.
If resistance is not as specified, replace the DRL resistor.

Removal

1.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2.
Disconnect the connector and then remove the DRL resistor (A) on the front right side inner member after loosening the nuts (2EA).


Installation

1.
Install the DRL resistor to the inner member.
2.
Connect the DRL resistor connector.
